UK's Covid outbreak rebounds as infections rise 11% in a week to 48,374

UKHSA data show Britain recorded 48,374 new cases over the last 24 hours, up 10.8 per cent on last week's total of 43,676. It was the first time the amount of positive tests increased last Friday.
