Today: Mother’s Day gifts she’d never return or re-gift. Ever since I was little, I’d ask my mother what gifts she’d want for any of the big occasions— Mother’s Day , her birthday, Christmas —and she’d invariably answer the same way: “I don’t need anything.” If pressed? “Make me a card.” As a new-ish mom myself, I find myself relating to her more than I ever have (on this and other matters). Getting a beautiful present is always nice, of course, but more than anything, my taste leans more practical: Is it a product that will help save me precious time that I could otherwise spend kicking back with my little family?
